Explanation - UOMB Scenario #2 Pre-allocation

  • Pre-allocation

The 1-Mar lot was selected for the full pallet because the quantity available for the oldest lot (1-Mar) is less than the pallet quantity (240). The cases picks were split between 1-Mar (12 units) and 1-Mar (24 units) because there were only 18 units (1.5 cases) available for the oldest (1-Mar) lot and after the pallet UOM reserved 240 of the 250 units in the 1-Mar lot. The eaches were reserved from the oldest lot (1-Mar) since the case UOM only used 12 of the 18 units in that lot.

  • Allocation

Because the 1-Mar lot was chosen for the full pallet but there was not a full pallet license plate available in that lot, the system could not allocate a full license plate. 16 units (one case and four eaches) were allocated from the oldest (1-Mar) lot. 240 units were allocated from the next lot (1-Mar), but since this crossed multiple license plates, the single quantity is not on a single pick. The remaining two cases (24 units) were allocated from the 1-Mar lot.
