Closing a shipment order

You can close a shipment order that contains line items with an open quantity. When you close a shipment order, the following events occur automatically:

  • The order status updates to shipped when picked items are shipped.
  • Any inventory in the order that is allocated but not picked is unallocated.
  • Tasks linked to open picks are deleted
  • The open quantity is reduced to match the quantity recorded as picked for each line item.
  • Picking against the closed shipment order is not allowed.
  • If you set your Owner and Ship To configurations to allow back ordering, a new order is created for the open quantities. See the Infor WMS Configuration User Guide for information on back order configuration settings.

To close a shipment order:

  1. Select Outbound > Shipment Order from the WMS Workbench. The Shipment Order screen displays.
  2. To view the list of shipment orders, click Search.
  3. From the Shipment Order list view, click to select (check box) the applicable line item;
    OR
    Select the applicable line item to display the order details and form within the Shipment Order form view.
  4. Select Actions > Close Order; click OK to confirm closing the order.
