Classic Pre-allocation
Pre-allocation places a soft hold on inventory at the lot level. The pre-allocation process determines which lot is to be allocated from inventory based on rotation rules and current inventory balances. This step also determines how much of the various units of measure should be allocated. Pre-allocation does not lock inventory at the specific location or license plate level. If a user only pre-allocates, the pre-allocated inventory can still be moved. Pre-allocation is used to check for sufficient stock to fill an order; however, the items do not need to be in the primary pick location.
See the Infor WMS Configuration User Guide for additional information on configuring classic pre-allocation strategies.
