Returning production inventory using RF

You can return a product into inventory directly against a production order via RF.

To return production order inventory using RF:

  1. Select Prod. Return from the Prod Mgmt (POMP) menu. The Prod. Return (PR1) screen is displayed.
  2. Specify the Item Number or press F2 Lookup to look up and select the item number.
  3. Specify either the Order Number or External Order number (only specify data into one of the order fields) and press Enter.
    • The system checks if the specified information is valid.
    • If the information is valid, the Prod. Return (PR2) screen is displayed (Step 4) with the specified order number and item.
    • If the specified shipment order or external order does not exist in Infor WMS or if the order specified is not a production order, a message is displayed indicating the order does not exist or is not the correct type.
    • If the order is in shipped status, a message is displayed indicating a return is not allowed for shipped orders.
    • If the item is not found on the order, a message is displayed indicating the item does not exist for the order.
    • If the quantity shipped for the specified item is zero (0), a message is displayed indicating the item has not been shipped for the order.
  4. With the Prod. Return (PR2) screen displayed, specify the location where you want to return the inventory. The location must be a production staging (speed pick) location for the order.
  5. Scan or specify the Lpn to return to stock for the order, or press F2 Lookup to select the Lpn from the list of license plates included on the order for the item. Press Enter.
    • The system validates a PickDetail exists for the current shipment order with a matching LPN and item, and the system verifies that the scanned/specified LPN does not exist in another location with a quantity greater than 0.
    • If the information is valid, the Prod. Return (PR3) screen is displayed (Step 6) with the order number, item, location, Lpn, current quantity, and UOM displayed.
    • If the scanned/specified LPN is not found for the same order or item, a message indicating the LPN was not found on the order is displayed.
    • If the scanned/specified LPN does exist in another location, a message indicating inventory already exists and cannot be returned to the specified location is displayed.
  6. Specify either the Target Quantity or Return Quantity and press Enter.
    • The system validates that the quantity has been specified in one of required quantity fields. If the Tgt Qty and Ret Qty fields are blank or if both fields are populated, a message indicating you must specify quantity in only one of the two fields is displayed.
    • The system verifies that the quantity specified is not greater than the quantity shipped for the item on the order. If the return quantity is more than the shipped quantity for the item, a message indicating the quantity returned cannot be greater than the quantity shipped is displayed.
