How the rules are applied

This overview shows how the shipment order processing rules are applied to shipment orders.

  • Create shipment order processing rules
  • Assign rules to owner, ship to, or both in the Shipment Order Processing Rules field
  • Create a shipment order

    This table shows the shipment order processing rules are validated when the shipment order is saved:

    If Then
    The order is saved with a rule selected The rule is assigned to the shipment order
    The order is saved with NONE selected for the rule The rule assigned on the Ship To page is checked
    The rule is selected on the Ship To page The rule is assigned to the order
    The rule is not selected on the Ship To page The Owner page is checked for a shipment order processing rule
    The rule is selected on the Owner page The rule is assigned to the order
  • Allocate and release the order
  • Perform load maintenance. If you change the ship order processing rule on the Load Maintenance page, then the rule for all orders on the load are updated. The rule cannot be set to NONE.

Depending on how the rules are assigned to the order, these actions must be performed so that the flow of the order processing can continue:

  • Allocate before picking
  • Pick before shipping
