Creating a new production cycle count task and count on an existing LPN
When a production cycle count task does not exist for an item and a task is created, the system checks if the item was previously counted on an LPN and remains in the location. If the item was previously counted on an LPN and a new count must be created to account for the additional inventory, the count field on the Cycle Count PCC1 screen can be used to indicate how the additional inventory is accounted.
When you select an LPN for an item that exists in the cycle count location, you can specify one of these values for the Count field on the Cycle Count PCC1 screen.
- When you select Total for the value, the system subtracts the LPN previously counted from the quantity you specified. This calculation reflects the updated inventory levels.
- When you select Add for the value, the system adds inventory to an LPN that previously existed with a on hand count of zero (0).
Once you select either the Total or Add value for the Count field and press
, a new Cycle Count PCC1 screen is displayed. If you specify the same Item and LPN again before you select , the Cycle Count Detail is updated with the new count. This flow allows for multiple counts within this cycle until you finalize the item count by selecting .
