Maintaining Item Facility Control Groups

Item facility control groups are used to identify the facilities in which an item can be created. This feature is used to restrict items for a single owner and to restrict the items to certain facilities. You can create one or more facility control groups and then determine the facilities where each group is available. The group is then assigned to items to identify the facilities where the item can exist.
Note: Only item group codes that require special handling require configuration as defined in these steps. If a facility control group is not assigned to the item, the item will be created in each facility where the owner is enabled.

The appropriate configuration for item facility groups needs to be completed prior to creating items. If an item is created in a facility, it will not be deleted from that facility if it is later assigned to a facility control group that is not enabled in a facility.
