Assigning Sub-Elements

Each element can reference multiple sub-elements. You can either review information in the list view, or you can click the Detail icon to display the assigned sub-element details in a window. The window also displays when you create a new sub-element assignment.

To assign new sub-elements to this element, you must be in edit mode.

  1. On the Assigned Sub-Element toolbar, click New. The system displays the Edit Sub-Element Header/Detail window.
  2. Specify this information:
    Sequence
The sequence in which the system should evaluate and calculate this sub-element. When calculating standards, the system uses the sequence values to determine the order in which to evaluate each sub-element assigned to the element.

Specify the sub-element assigned to the element at this sequence.
    Active
Displays the Active setting of this sub-element. Only active sub-elements are considered in labor calculations. You cannot change this value here; you can only change this value on the original Sub-Element record.
    Frequency of Occurrence
The number of times this sub-element occurs during the completion of this element. The system multiplies this value with the net normal time for the sub-element. Generally, this value is 1, but if for example, the sub-element is added for every fifth task, then you can set it to 0.2 so that it adds 1/5 of the sub-element time to each task.

The time to complete this sub-element activity. Specify this value on the original sub-element record; you cannot change it here.
