Generating physical inventory tasks

Before generating physical inventory tasks, the warehouse must determine whether the tasks display the application quantity to the associate. If the decision is made to not display the application quantity, the Show System Qty field on the Physical Parameters screen must be set to No.

The warehouse also must determine whether the physical inventory counts are performed at the Item and Location level, or at the Lot and Location and ID level. If the warehouse performs counts at the Item and Location level, the owner physical inventory counts using Item and Location Level field must be selected.

  1. Select Execution > Cycle Count > Physical Control. The Physical Inventory Parameters is displayed.
  2. To identify inventory, enter information in one or more pairs of the From and To fields.
  3. Click Actions and select Release PI Counts.
    • If you placed the inventory on PI hold prior to selecting the Release PI Counts action, the PI tasks are created.
    • If you did not place the inventory on PI hold prior to selecting the release PI counts action, you are prompted to confirm if you want to release the tasks without first placing the inventory on PI hold.
      • Click Yes to create the PI tasks without placing inventory on PI hold for the given range.
      • Click No to dismiss the prompt. You can then place the inventory on PI hold for the given range and select the Release PI Counts action to create the PI tasks.
