Maintaining a cycle count release schedule

You can schedule the release of cycle count jobs depending on the defined criteria. You can define and control the way cycle counts are automatically released.

Once you have specified the cycle count parameters, you can create and schedule jobs within the Scheduler that can be released automatically at preset intervals. See the Infor WMS Scheduler User Guide for information on job scheduler maintenance.

To defined the parameters for the schedule cycle count release process:

  1. Select Execution > Cycle Count > Scheduled Release. The Schedule Release screen displays.
  2. Specify this information:
    Maximum Counts for CC
Maximum number of cycle count tasks created for a particular time. You can specify any positive value in this field. The value of 0 (zero) in this field indicates no limitation to the number of cycle count tasks created.
    Request to Count Only
Controls the cycle count task generation process. Yes generates only count tasks for entries in the request to count table. No generates count tasks for request to count entries as well as count tasks based on item cycle class and last counted date (Normal Cycle Count Task Generation).
Number of Days Past to Count
Determines whether to skip the record if it has been counted recently. This field is used in conjunction with the Count Quantity Less Than field and indicates the number of days within which a cycle count is auto-generated if product has been altered. It is based on the LOTxLOCxID Edit Date field. (Cycle Counts generated by Request to Count ignore this value.)
    Location Type
Type of location to be cycle counted. Select a location type from the drop-down list.
    Priority

Priority for the cycle count tasks created by the scheduled cycle count release process. The default value for this field will be 5. If any requests exist to count records, the system compares the priority of the request to count with the value in the Priority field, and consider the highest priority value (the lowest number) as priority for the task.

    Release By
Determines if the cycle count is released by Item or Location. Default value is Item.
    Include 0 Counts
Determines whether counts with a zero balance can create cycle count tasks. Yes selection creates zero balance cycle counts tasks. No selection does not create zero balance cycle count tasks.
    Show System Quantity
Determines whether the application displays the amount of items on hand to the RF associate.
    Count Quantity Less Than
The application counts pick locations with amounts smaller than the number entered in this field. Used in conjunction with the Number of Days Past to Count field.
  3. Click Save.
Within the scheduler, you can select the Release Cycle Count job with the background job type to control auto-release scheduling.
