Generating a move task
Use the search fields to search the existing inventory in the warehouse. You can optionally import the information from an Excel spreadsheet and create the move tasks from the imported information.
To generate a move task from the workstation:
- Select Execution > Productivity/Labor > Move Task.
- Specify the owner, item, location, lot, LPN, inventory status, and quantity to search for available inventory.
- To specify information to refine your search, click More Fields.
- Use the additional fields to retrieve the inventory information that is required to generate the move task.
-
Specify this information to create the move task:
- To LPN
- Specify the license plate number. If you do not enter an LPN, the From LPN is retained on the move task.
- To Location
- Required. Specify the location that is the destination. If a move task was already created for the same From LPN/From Location and the same To LPN/To Location but for a different Item or Lot, the existing move task is updated as Mixed. The Mixed status allows the operator to perform a single move if a license plate contains multiple items or lots.
- Quantity to Move
- Specify the quantity to move to the new location. If you do not enter a value, the entire quantity in the From LPN is included in the move task. If you enter a quantity, it must be less than or equal to the quantity available on the inventory record.
- Priority
- Select the priority. The default is 5.
- User
- Optionally select a user's ID to assign a user to the move task.
- Release Time
- Optionally specify a future date and time for the task to be released and performed.
-
Repeat these steps to define additional move tasks.
Note: Click Action > Clear Moves to reset the screen prior to creating move tasks. This action will not clear or cancel move tasks that were already created by the user.
-
When you are finished, select the check box for each task. Click
Action > Clear
Moves. If the moves are successfully created, the
status is changed to
Created.
Note: Moves can be scheduled using the Visual Inventory screen.
- Execution > Inventory > Visual Inventory
- See the Visual Inventory chapter in this guide for addition information.
