Rules for dynamic picks of held inventory
The application uses specific rules to direct pickers to pick held product and confirm the selection of valid inventory.
- If no records are defined for an Order Type in the Hold Allocation Configuration, the system only allocates OK inventory (records without any defined hold codes).
- Dynamic picking (soft allocation) follows the same rules as allocation. You can select only inventory that is part of the acceptable list of reason codes for the order type.
- If the inventory has multiple hold codes assigned and at least one of the codes is not included in the list of eligible codes for the item, that inventory is not available for picking.
- If you attempt to pick product that does not meet order type requirements, the system displays the Pallet chosen (xxxxx) has status on hold message.
- The application uses
existing rotation and shelf life rules to determine which location is sent to
you after the system generates a list of inventory meeting the inventory
status.
The application uses these inventory rules during the picking process:
- If the product is on location hold, the portion picked is not on hold after that portion is picked.
- If the product is on Lot hold, the product picked is on hold after the pick is complete because product is still part of that lot number.
- If the product is on license plate hold, and a full pallet is picked, the license plate is on a hold status following the pick. If a quantity less than a full pallet is picked, the operator must enter a new license plate for the picked product. The inventory is no longer on hold.
