Consolidating loads

Use the RF Pick/Shipping option, RF Shipping 1, to consolidate loads to an outbound vehicle. The consolidation process includes checks for flow thru picks and transship containers when considering IDs to consolidate.

The crossdock feature includes three load consolidation options:

  • Pack/Load/Ship

Allows you to pack, load and ship Flow Thru inventory and transship containers.

  • Pack

Allows you to quickly pack to a pallet.

  • Load

Allows you to quickly load Flow Thru items or Transship Containers to an outbound vehicle.

To consolidate loads:

  1. From the RF device Main menu, select Outbound Menu. The Outbound Mgmt (OBM) screen is displayed.
  2. Select Pack/Load/Ship. The Pack/Load/Ship (PLS) screen is displayed.
  3. Select Pack/Load/Ship. The Pack/Load/Ship (SH11) screen is displayed.
  4. Specify information in the appropriate fields.
    Note:
    • When packing cases to a pallet, specify PACK in ACT.
    • When loading pallets to an outbound vehicle, specify LOAD in ACT.
    • When ready to ship the inventory, specify SHIP in ACT.
  5. Press Enter twice. The RF device transmits the data to the application database and then is displayed a new screen so the next item can be packed, loaded, or shipped.
  6. From the Pack/Load/Ship menu, select Pack. The RF Pack (SH12) screen is displayed
  7. Specify information in the appropriate fields.
  8. Press Enter twice. The RF device transmits the data to the database and then is displayed in a display screen so the next item can be picked.
Note:  Depending on the configuration of the Prompts.ini file, the application might display one of following messages if you attempt to pack cases allocated to different customers on the same pallet:
    • A warning message asking if you want to create a multi-customer record
    • A hard error message.
  9. To use the Load option, from the Pack/Load/Ship menu, select Load. The RF Load (SH13) screen is displayed
  10. Specify information in the appropriate fields.
  11. Press Enter twice. The RF device transmits the data to the application database and then is displayed in a display screen so the next item can be loaded.
  12. To return to the main menu, press Esc.
Note:  The Status field on the Picks tab of the Flow Thru Detail by Purchase Order screen is updated to Picked status after consolidation is completed.

If a mistake was made and a consolidation from a load must be undone, use the RF Pack option to re-pack the case to the correct pallet. Similarly, to de-consolidate a pallet loaded to an outbound vehicle, use the RF Load option to re-pack the pallet to the correct outbound vehicle. Use the Drop ID screen to verify the corrections.
