Closing a transship ASN

After you have verified and received expected items from the Transship ASN, the next step is to close the Transship ASN record in the application. You can use an RF device to complete this process. When the Transship ASN record is closed, it notifies the application that the expected amounts were received and the transship ASN is no longer needed.

To close the transship ASN:

  1. From the RF device Main menu, select Receipt. The Printer ID (PID) screen is displayed.
  2. In PRNT, specify the printer ID and press Enter twice. The Receiving Tasks (RC) screen is displayed.
  3. Select Transship. The Transship Tasks (TRT) screen is displayed.
  4. Select Close Transship. The TR Closing (CT) screen is displayed.
  5. In ID, specify the ID and press Enter twice. The TR Closing (CT) screen is displayed.
  6. The RF screen for the Multi-Sid feature is displayed if the application detects multiple SIDs.

    The SID field is automatically populated; you must specify the DUNS number.

  7. The Verify Transship (VT) screen is displayed with the requested information under one of the following circumstances:
    • A retrieved record matches the unique ID.
    • A retrieved record matches the ID, DUNS, and route, but the ID is not unique.
  8. Specify information into the appropriate fields.
  9. Press Enter twice. The RF device transmits information to the database and then is displayed a blank screen.
  10. If discrepancies with the record exist, the Yes/No Options screen is displayed, asking if you want to continue. Selecting Yes is displayed the Tran Exceptions (CTE) screen so that you can edit the entry.
  11. Press Enter twice. The unit transmits the data to the database and then is displayed a new screen so the next record can be closed.
    Note: To leave the discrepancies as they are, select No to return to the TR Closing (CT) screen.
    • If invalid data is entered, the application displays an error message. Correct the data and then try again.
    • If the transship ASN record is missing weight or cube information, an RF screen is displayed, which allows you to resolve the discrepancy by entering the weight and cube before the transship ASN record is closed.
  12. Repeat the process beginning at step 5 until all records are closed.
  13. To return to the main menu, press Esc.
