Allocating the entire quantity received to a single order

If the entire quantity being received is allocated to a single outbound order, the license plate is either staged for picking or immediately given to the operator to complete. If the flag on the owner is enabled to Issue Full Pallet Picks to Operator Following Receipt, the operator receives instructions on where to stage the pallet for the order. If that flag is turned off, the pallet is staged in the normal crossdock staging location.

Scenario:

  • Open orders eligible for opportunistic crossdock = 3
  • Quantity ordered on each order = 72
  • Quantity to receive = 1 pallet (72 units)

The standard process for this type of scenario is:

  1. Use RF receiving to receive 1 pallet (72 units).
  2. The OXD3 screen is displayed informing the user that the license plate is allocated against a single order.

At this point of the process:

    • All 72 units received are in the location where they are received (STAGE in this example).
    • 1 pick detail record is created for 72 units.
    • The inventory is currently in the receipt location.
  3. Press Enter to complete the pick of the pallet received. The Esc key can be used if the operator does not want to complete the pick.
  4. The OXD4 screen is displayed, providing information on where the product must be staged for the outbound order. The information includes:
    Order#
The shipment order number that is allocated.
    Stage
The stage location assigned to the order. This can be blank.
    Door
The door location assigned to the order. This can be blank.
    To Loc
The suggested staging location for the pallet. This location is determined by these steps.
    • If a door location is assigned to the order, use that as the suggested location.
    • If no door is assigned, use the stage location is that is assigned.
    • If no door or stage location is assigned, use the Customer Crossdock Flow Lane if one is created for the customer on the order.
    • If none of these has been configured, the default outbound crossdock staging lane is displayed. The default for this is XDLANE.
  5. The operator moves the product to the suggested location or to another location and confirms the move by scanning the location in Confirm.

The user can confirm the move to a different location than suggested. If that is done, a message is displayed to confirm overriding the location.

The receipt, picking, and staging of the crossdock product are now complete.
