Receipt splitting between opportunistic allocation and putaway

If only a portion of the quantity being received is not allocated to outbound orders, you must split the receipt so the allocated quantity can be staged for picking and the remaining quantity can be staged for putaway.

The application directs the operator through the steps required to split and stage the new receipt correctly.

Scenario:

  • Open orders eligible for opportunistic crossdock = 2
  • Quantity ordered on each order = 12
  • Quantity to receive = 1 pallet (72 units)

The standard process for this type of scenario is:

  1. Use RF receiving to receive 1 pallet (72 units).

  2. The OPXRC screen is displayed. This informs the operator that opportunistic allocation has occurred and the license plate received must be split.

At this point of the process:

    • Inventory balances show all 72 units received in the location where they are received (STAGE in this example).
    • 24 units are allocated from the location defined as the Inbound Staging Location for Allocated Receipts on the owner configuration. The default value is XDSTAGE.
  3. Scan a new license plate in Lpn and apply it to the product that remains in the receipt staging location (STAGE) for putaway. In this example, this quantity is 48.
  4. Press Enter to confirm.
  5. The OXDMV screen is displayed informing the operator of the physical move that must occur.

At this point of the process:

    • All 72 units received are in the location where they are received (STAGE in this example).
    • 24 units are on the license plate that was originally received.
    • 48 units are on the new license plate scanned on screen OXDRC.
    • An inventory transaction is recorded to track the move of 48 units to a new license plate
    • 24 units are allocated against the original license plate in location XDSTAGE; however, the inventory does not exist in that location at this time.
  6. The operator now moves the license plate with 48 units to the staging location for opportunistic picking.
  7. Press Enter to confirm the move and complete the split.

At this point of the process:

    • 24 units are moved to location XDSTAGE and are ready to be picked.
    • If the owner is configured to create pick tasks for opportunistic crossdock, 2 pick tasks for each order are created.
    • 48 units remain in location STAGE and are ready for putaway.
    • If the owner is configured to create putaway tasks upon receipt, a putaway task exists for 48 units against the new license plate assigned in screen OXDRC.
    • 24 units are on the license plate that was originally received.
    • 48 units are on the new license plate scanned on screen OXDRC.
    • 24 units are allocated against the original license plate in location XDSTAGE; however, the inventory does not exist in that location at this time.
    • An inventory transaction is recorded to track the move of 24 units to a different location (XDSTAGE).
