Creating a transship ASN

The transship ASN notifies the distribution center that transship containers are arriving soon. The detail information from the transship ASN displays on the RF device when transship items are verified. Typically, the transship ASN is transmitted electronically to the database. You also have the option of entering this data into the application using a workstation. The application lets you change or delete information from a transship ASN before it is closed.

To create a transship ASN:

  1. Select Crossdock > Management > Transship ASN. The Transship ASN screen is displayed.
  2. Click New. The Transship ASN screen and Transship ASN Detail screen open in Form View.
  3. Specify this information:
    Transship ASN Number
    Specify a transship ASN number.
    External Shipment Number
    Specify an external shipment number. This number displays in the Document field on the Maintain Transship screen.
    Pallet ID
    Specify the pallet ID.
    Customer
    Specify a customer.
    Vendor
    Specify a vendor.
    Status
    Select a status.
    Verify Flag
    select the verification status.
    • To verify Transship Container items, select Verify.
    • To avoid verifying Transship Container items, select Do Not Verify.
    • If the items shown on the detail list have already been received, select Completed.
  4. Complete the remaining fields on the screen.

    Do one of the following:

    • To save the transship ASN record without detail line information, click Save.
    • Continue to step 10 to include detail line information on the transship ASN.
  5. On the Transship ASN Detail screen, in the Owner field, enter the name of the owner.
  6. In the Item field, enter the code for the item.
  7. Specify this information:
    Description
    Specify a description for the item.
    Expected
    Specify the expected quantity of the item.
  8. Complete the remaining fields on the screen.
  9. Click Save.
  10. To add more detail lines, click Add.
  11. Repeat step 2 through 6.
  12. Click Save.
  13. To generate a Transship Receiving report, click Reports and select Receiving Report.
  14. To view the saved data in the Transship ASN screen, click Refresh.
