Creating an alternate item within the Alternate tab of the item master

From the menu, select a specific warehouse.

From the WMS Menu, select Configuration > Item.

Click Search to display the item list.

Select the applicable item entry. The Item detail view is displayed.

Click the Alternate tab.

Click New.

Specify this information:

Owner: Owner of the item. Non-editable field; information from item master automatically displayed.
Item: Item associated with the owner. Non-editable field; information from item master automatically displayed.
Description: Description of the item. Non-editable field; information from item master automatically displayed.
Alternate Item: Code/number identifying the alternate item.
Pack: Code identifying the set of UOMs by which the alternate item can be tracked in the facility. Click the Lookup icon and select the applicable pack from the list.
Type: Code identifying the alternate item. The default value is UPC. Select the applicable value from the list.
Vendor: Supplier of the item. Click the Lookup icon and select the applicable supplier from the list.
Default UOM: Unit of measure by which the alternate item is received on the RF. The default value is EA (each). Select the applicable value from the list.
Barcode UOM for Each Piece CC Scan: Optionally, select a value from the list for Cycle Count. The list is displayed based on the Pack value. This value represents the ability to scan barcode UOMs at the time of picking. For example, if you configure an alternate item with the field value as case, then at the time of RF picking, you are expected to scan case barcodes instead of each unit barcodes.
UDF1 through UDF5: User-defined fields. Type in any additional comments regarding the alternate item. Note that these fields are for notation purposes only.
Barcode UOM for Picking: Select a barcode UOM to scan at the time of picking from the list. The UOM list is based on the pack value. The default value is EA. Note that this field is hidden by default.

Click Save.

Within the Alternate tab (bottom portion) area of the screen, you can:

Select the alternate item entry in the list to view and edit the alternate item. Note that you cannot edit the Owner, Item, Description, and Alternate Item fields of an existing alternate item.
Click New to add another alternate item.
Click Import to import data from an Excel spreadsheet to use for creating other alternate items. See the Infor WMS Introduction and Navigation User Guide for information on the import functionality.
Click Export Options to export alternate item data to an Excel spreadsheet . See the Infor WMS Introduction and Navigation User Guide for information on the export options functionality.
Select the check box next to an alternate item entry in the list and click Delete to delete the alternate item.
