Creating a user profile

A user profile is a master detail screen that controls the tasks that each user can be assigned. Each user profile contains the following.

Header
General information about the user that applies to all tasks, including the User ID, the strategy assigned to the user, and the equipment profile assigned to the user.
Detail
A record containing one task type per area. To grant a user permission to perform tasks, such as Putaway or Picks in a selected area, a separate detail record must be created for each task.

To create a user profile:

  1. Select Configuration > Productivity > User to open the User screen.
  2. Click New to access the User list and detail views.
  3. Specify this information:
    LIST VIEW
    User
    User’s ID for logging into RF programs. Required.
    Note: The ID is initially added through the Warehouse Management application platform administrator. The ID then displays on the drop-down list.
    Task Strategy
    Strategy assigned to this user. Required.
    Note: This list consists of records from Configuration > Strategies > Task Dispatch.
    User Group
    Name used to identify the family of users.
    Equipment Profile
    Equipment profile assigned to this user. Required.
    Default Labor Owner
    The default labor owner for this user. Optional.
    Label Printer
    RF Label printer. P01 is the default value for the printer used for labels printed during picking.
    Picker Request Outbound QC Check
    Select to indicate that all picks completed by this user require a QC check.
    DETAIL LIST VIEW
    Line #
    Pre-populated line number identifying this line in the user’s profile. Write-protected.
    Task Type
    Type of task for which permission is granted. Required.
    Note: This list consists of records from Administration > Code – TASKTYPE.
    Options include:
    • Cherry Pick Replenishments
    • Consolidations
    • Cross Docks
    • Cycle Counts
    • General Messages
    • Loading
    • Moves
    • Optimize Move
    • Paper Putaways
    • Physical Inventory A Count
    • Physical Inventory B Count
    • Picks
    • Putaways
    • Quality Control/Inspection
    • Replenishment
    • Stock Putaway
    • Work Center Moves
    Area
    Area in which the user is permitted to perform the task associated with the specified permission type. Required.
    Note: This list consists of records from Configuration > Productivity > Area.
    Permission
    Indicator that determines whether the user is granted permission for a specific permission type and area. This field is activated when the check box is selected. Required.
    Other permissions:
    - Pick Piece
    - Pick Case
    - Pick Inner Pack
    - Pick Pallet
    Indicators that determine whether the user is granted permission for specific pick types. Only active when Permission Type = Picks. Required if Permission Type = Picks.

    Write-protected when all other Permission Types are selected.

  4. Select User and select the user ID.
  5. In the Task Strategy field, select the strategy to assign the user.
  6. In the Equipment Profile field, select the equipment assigned to the user.
  7. In the User Group field, specify a user group name, if this user is part of a user group.
  8. In the detail list view at the bottom of the screen, in the Task Type field, select the permission type to assign to this user.
  9. In the Area field, select the area in which the user is permitted to perform the selected permission type.
  10. To grant the user permission for the specified permission type and area, click the Permission check box.
  11. If Pick permission types are granted to the user, specify the type of picks in the corresponding check boxes of each type:
    • Pick Piece
    • Pick Case
    • Pick Innerpack
    • Pick Pallets
  12. Click Save
    Note:  To delete a record, click the record line; then click Delete.
