Configuring summary weight capture
Use the Summary Weight Capture tab to set controls for capturing and tracking weights for license plates at the summary level.
- Select Enterprise > Configuration > Item.
- Select an item
- Select the Summary Weight Capture tab.
-
Specify this information:
- Inbound Summary RF Weight Capture
- Select this check box to display the Summary Weight Capture screen to the RF operator during receipt. If not selected, the weight information of the receipt is calculated using the standard weights configured for the item. This check box cannot be selected if the Inbound Catch Weight check box on the Weight/Data tab is selected. An item cannot be configured to capture both types of weights.
- Outbound Summary RF Weight Capture
- Select this check box to display the Summary Weight Capture screen to the RF operator during picking. If not selected, the impact of the weight change is calculated by prorating the weights on the license plate. This check box cannot be selected if the Outbound Catch Weight check box on the Weight/Data tab is selected. An item cannot be configured to capture both types of weights.
- Display Summary RF Weight Capture for Other Transactions
- Select this check box to display the Summary Weight Capture screen to the RF operator during normal inventory transactions. Normal inventory transactions include adjustment, inventory moves, replenishment, and cycle counts. If not selected, the impact of the weight change is calculated by prorating the weights on the license plate.
- UOM for Summary Weight Capture
- Specify the unit of measure (UOM) for the weights configured on this tab. The UOM and weight are used to calculate the expected weight for transactions on the RF. This field is only required if one of the summary capture check boxes is selected.
- Catch Gross Weight
- Select this check box to indicated that the RF operator inputs the gross weigh, which is the total of net weight and tare weight. If selected, the expected weight is calculated on the Summary Weight Capture screen and the operator can modify it. This check box is not editable unless at least one of the summary capture check boxes is selected.
- Standard Gross Weight
- Specify the average gross weight of the item based on the
unit of measure selected in UOM for Summary Weight Capture.
If the UOM is Each, the expected gross weight
for the transaction is calculated by multiplying the transaction
quantity times this standard gross weight value. If the UOM is
Case, the expected gross
weight for the transaction is calculated using the transaction
quantity divided by the case quantity, and then multiplied by this
standard gross weight value.
This field is automatically populated when the item is created based on the gross weight defined for the item on the General tab. The item configuration requires the gross weight to be equal to net weight + tare weight.
- Catch Net Weight
- Select this check box to indicate that the RF operator inputs the net weight. If selected, the expected weight is calculated on the Summary Weight Capture screen and the operator can modify it. This check box is not editable unless at least one of the summary capture check boxes are selected.
- Standard Net Weight
- Specify the average net weight of the item based on the
unit of measure selected in UOM for Summary Weight Capture.
If the UOM is Each, the expected net weight
for the transaction is calculated by multiplying the transaction
quantity times this standard net weight value. If the UOM is
Case, the expected net
weight for the transaction is calculated using the transaction
quantity divided by the case quantity, and then multiplied by this
standard net weight value.
This field is automatically populated when the item is created based on the net weight defined for the item on the General tab. The item configuration requires the gross weight to be equal to net weight + tare weight.
- Catch Tare Weight
- Select this check box to indicated that the RF operator inputs the tare weight. If selected, an expected weight is calculated in the Summary Weight Capture screen and the operator can modify. This check box is not editable unless at least one of the summary capture check boxes is selected.
- Standard Tare Weight
- Specify the average tare weight of the item based on the
unit of measure selected in the UOM for Summary Weight Capture. If the
UOM is Each, the expected tare weight for the
transaction is calculated by multiplying the transaction quantity
times this standard tare weight value. If the UOM is Case, the expected tare weight for
the transaction is calculated using the transaction quantity divided
by the case quantity, and then multiplying by this standard tare
weight value.
This field is automatically populated when the item is created based on the tare weight defined for the item on the General tab. The item configuration requires the gross weight to be equal to net weight + tare weight.
- Zero Default Weight for RF Picking
- Select this check box to determine whether the expected weight information for the pick is calculated within the system and displayed to the RF operator or if the weight should be displayed to the operator as 0 (zero) to force the weight capture.
- Click Save.
