Cycle counts

A Cycle count is a count in which locations are spot-checked to ensure that application balances and actual location quantities match. Cycle counts verify quantities in specific locations.

Because a cycle count can result in an inventory adjustment, the process for serial number tracking is similar to adjustments.

Task-directed and RF-assisted

To perform task-directed or RF-assisted cycle counts, see the Infor WMS Capture Weight, Serial Number, and Data User Guide.

If the inventory you count is configured for end to end serial capture, the RF operator must identify the specific serials to count if a variance exists between the recorded count and the system inventory.

The system records adjustment to inventory based on the serial number differences between the operator’s count and system inventory records. If the operator scans a serial that is not in the system, the serial is created. If a serial is not verified by the operator, it is adjusted out of inventory.

Note: The ability to automatically adjust inventory during the cycle count is dependent on configuration for tolerance levels and the variance of the inventory count.
