Creating appointments

You can create appointments from the Appointment List view or from the Dock Scheduling view. From the Appointment List view, you can toggle to a calendar view that provides a day by day appointment time-line. You can also select the Dock Scheduling view to view appointments by dock availability.
  1. Click New on the Scheduling page.
  2. From the Appointment Detail page, complete these fields:
    Appointment Time
    Drag the slider bar to specify the when the appointment start and end time. The default appointment duration is established in the System Settings page.
    Appointment Number
    Specify the appointment number to override the system default.
    Status
    Specify the status of the appointment. The default value is Scheduled.
    Carrier
    Optionally, specify the carrier for this appointment.
    Trailer
    Optionally, specify the trailer number for this appointment.
    Trailer Type
    Optionally, specify the type of trailer for this appointment.
    Trailer Location
    Optionally, specify the yard location for this appointment. The default yard location is established in the System Settings page. Complete this field when the trailer gets checked into the yard.
  3. Click the User Defined tab to input any additional information.
  4. To associate an ASN or shipment order with the appointment, click the ASN/Orders tab. where an inbound or outbound order can be linked to the appointment. A list of all open receipts or shipment orders displays. Select the receipts or orders for this appointment. You can associate multiple receipts or orders with an appointment.
  5. Click the Dock Schedule tab to change the servicing time of when the trailer is going to be at the door to be serviced. Note that you cannot service a trailer outside of the appointment time, as the trailer will be out of the yard during that time.
  6. Click Save to create the appointment.
