Allocating by Load

You can use the Load Maintenance page to easily create a wave that contains all orders included on the load, and then allocate and create tasks for those orders. This feature provides a direct link between the wave and load so you can track the outbound process of the load. Another benefit to this is using the Pick by Load type of cluster picking to properly stage items to be shipped on the load. Refer to the Infor WMS Picking User Guide for additional information on using the Pick by Load cluster pick feature.

  1. Select Outbound > Load Management > Maintenance. The Load Maintenance screen displays.
  2. To display a list, click Search.
  3. Click a Load ID. The Detail view displays.
  4. Click Actions and these options display:
    • Allocate
    • Release
    • Unallocate
    • Assign Load Staging
    • Clear Load Staging
  5. To allocate and release tasks to task manager, select Release. If you only want to allocate without creating tasks, select Allocate.
This action creates a wave in the background and updates the new wave in the Wave Number field on the Load Maintenance screen.
  6. You can directly open the Wave Maintenance screen for this load by clicking on the Search icon in the Wave Number field. This action will open a separate tab for the wave.
    Note:
    • When the Wave is created for the load, the Load ID and External Load ID values are included in the Wave Description field. This makes it possible to search for a specific load from the Wave Maintenance screen.
    • An example of the Wave Description used: Load Number:0000000014 Ext. Load ID:TR098100014
    • When searching for the load from the Wave Maintenance screen, you can use wildcard characters (either * or %) to search for the desired record.
