Timesheet logging

Timesheet logging allows you to track workers' hours for payroll reporting and owner billing. A timesheet is created automatically if the user clocks in on the Time Clock screen or signs in on an RF device. Activities performed by the RF user are saved to the timesheet. Users can edit their activities on the timesheet if security settings allow it. Workers who do not use the Time Clock or an RF device can record their activities on the timesheet.

You must have the MONITORPRODUCTIVITY system setting turned on to enable this functionality.

Supervisors can use the timesheets to review and clean up the reported labor information. They can, for example, select multiple timesheets and change the clock in/out times for the users on specified dates. The original clock-in and clock-out times are saved for audit purposes. If the supervisor changes the start or stop time for a task, the times for the adjacent tasks are shortened or lengthened accordingly.

The timesheet provides time tracking for office, RF, and desktop workers.

  • Office workers can clock in and clock out on the Time Clock screen or they can manually create a timesheet. These workers can enter detail lines in the timesheet for the activities that they perform during the day. The timesheet is populated with the owner that is on the user's attendance record.
  • Mobile users have these options:
    • To track hours for payroll, the RF users can first clock in on the desktop and then use the RF device to report their work.
    • If not tracking hours for payroll purposes, the RF user can clock in automatically when they use Start Work on their RF device. The sign-in process allows them to report the owner they are working on and an RF screen allows them to change the owner when they change assignments. Tasks and owner information are logged automatically to the timesheet as the tasks are performed. At the end of the day, the user optionally uses the time clock to clock out.
  • Desktop users, for example, users who work a pack station, can use the Time Clock screen on the desktop to clock in and out. They can start and end the activities in the timesheet to track the owners for whom they are performing their tasks. Users can enter additional information such as an order number or quantity of cartons.

Before you implement timesheet logging, assign a role to each user who will access the Timesheet screen. Users can have authority to edit all timesheets, to edit their own timesheets, to read all timesheets, or to read only their own timesheets.
