Performing a cluster pick for each piece

Use this task to scan the item or alternate item numbers for each quantity of a configured barcode UOM based on owner and item configuration. To enable scanning for physical count, these options must be configured.

  • Default Barcode UOM check box on the Task tab under WMS > Configuration > Trading Partner > Owner
  • Barcode UOM check box on the Outbound tab under WMS > Configuration > Item
  1. On the RF device, select Picking. The Pick Menu (PM1) screen is displayed.
  2. Select Cluster Picking.
  3. Select By Order ID to specify the orders to pick.
  4. Specify this information:
    Area
Specify the area as configured in the application to search to find open pick tasks. You must have permission to pick in the designated area. If this field is blank, the application accesses tasks for all of the areas to which you have permission.
    Seq
Use the arrow keys to choose the sequence for the picks. Select Forward (default) for picks by location starting with the lowest location route sequence first. Select Reverse for picks in the other direction.
  5. Press Enter. The Enter Orders (TM31) screen is displayed.
  6. Scan or specify up to 30 order numbers in the blanks provided and press Enter. The Cluster Summary screen (TPKSUM) screen is displayed.
  7. If you selected the Barcode UOM check box on the Outbound tab of the Item page, then the ECPKO1 screen is displayed for each piece scanning. Confirm the From location of the pick.
  8. Specify this information:
    To LPN or Drop ID
Scan or specify the drop ID or new license plate for the pick. By default, if you do not specify a drop ID, the case ID becomes the To LPN for less than full pallet picks.
    Case ID
Scan or specify the case ID or label number associated with the pick task.
    From LPN
Specify the license plate number associated with the product.
  9. Scan the item after these fields are displayed:
    • Pack
    • UOM
    • Expected Quantity (EQty)
    • Scanned Quantity (SQty)
    • Item Description
  10. Optionally, scan the alternate item.

If you scan the barcode of an alternate item, the pack key for the barcode UOM that is associated to the alternate item is used to calculate the quantity picked. The scanned quantity is increased based on the quantity from the pack for that alternate item.

  11. Press Enter.
  12. Specify the case type and pick to location and complete the picking task.
