Shipment Order Processing Rules

Use the Shipment Order Processing Rules page to create configuration and validation checks for order processing. These rules require that specific outbound processes be completed on orders before the next step of the process can begin. For example, do not allow packing or loading to begin if the entire order has not been picked. Configuration can be defined by owner and ship to customer based on the unique outbound processes that may be supported within an operation.

You must select On for the APPLYORDERDISPOSTIONRULE on the System Setting page to evaluate the order processing rules.

Use the Shipment Order Processing Rules field to determine validation checks are required by outbound order processing before the next step of the process can begin. You can select a rule on these page tabs:

  • Owner Task tab
  • Ship To Processing tab
  • Shipment Order Header tab
  • Load Maintenance Main tab

You can also set the Shipment Order Processing Rules field during wave maintenance on the Mass Update page. The rule for orders associated with the wave are updated to the rule selected on this page when you click Update All. If you click Update Blanks, then all rules for the associated orders where the order processing rule is NONE are updated.

These options do not follow the Shipment Order Processing Rules:

  • Dynamic pick by stage
  • Batch pick orders
  • Check pack

During both RF and UI outbound functions, the rule is check on the Shipment Order to determine if that function can be performed. These examples explain rule check:

  • Rule is set so that the packing of orders is not allowed if orders are not fully picked. During RF and UI packing functions, all orders that have been fully picked are validated. If all picks are not complete, then an error message is displayed.
  • Rule is set so that the shipping of orders is not allowed if orders have not been fully loaded. During RF and UI shipping functions, all orders that have been fully loaded are validated. If orders are not fully loaded, then an error message is displayed.
