Assigning Elements

Each operation can reference multiple elements. You can either review information in the list view, or you can click the Detail icon to display the assigned element details in a Header/Detail pop-up. The system also displays the pop-up when you create a new element assignment.

To assign elements to this operation:

  1. Select an operation.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. On the Assigned Elements tab, click New. The system displays the Edit Element Header/Detail window.
  4. Use the field information below to assign the element.
    Sequence
The sequence in which the system should evaluate and calculate this element. When it calculates standards, the system uses the sequence values to determine the order in which to evaluate each element assigned to the operation. The sequence is not critical and used only for display purposes, but travel elements keep track of where the user is based on the sequence of elements.
    Element
The element assigned to the operation at this sequence.

The Active setting of this element. Only active elements are considered in labor calculations. You cannot change this value here; you can only change this value on the actual Element record.

    Frequency Unit Name
This is the level at which this element should be applied, such as per pallet or per shift. The system displays this value from the element record; you cannot edit this information.
    Travel To
For travel-type elements only; identifies the end location for travel such as the task to location or the task from location.
    Net Normal Time
The total time to complete this element based on the sum of the net level time of all sub-elements assigned to the element. The system calculates this value, and you cannot change it. If conditional sub-elements exist, the system displays VARIABLE in this field.
