Defining allowances

Allowances is a feature that can be used to recognize performance affected by various unavoidable circumstances. Allowances provide the means to add percentages of time to operations and elements to produce more accurate and fair performance standards. For example, you can configure these type of allowances:

  • Flat percentage: An allowance that can be used to apply a single percent to an operation in all circumstances
  • Task weight handled: An allowance that specifies the average weight per hour the user has handled since the user's latest time in for day record
  • Shift duration: An allowance that specifies the number of hours the user has worked since the user's latest time in for the day record
  • Shift/Facility: An allowance for the work shift that the time of the task occurs within
  • Workers in training: An allowance that can be applied to new hires that may need extra time to complete their tasks
  • Day of week: An allowance that can be applied to recognize that certain days of the week are less productive than others
  • Time of day: An allowance that recognizes different productivity levels depending on the time of day

You can configure conditions to apply to the allowances if the allowance only applies in certain circumstances, since allowances and conditions are based off of the data in the labor request. User-defined fields can be used to define any allowances and conditions you are able to query from the database.

Once allowances are created, they can be attached onto the operations header level and at the elements level.
