Verifying transship containers

The transship verification process is a more detailed method of transship receiving. Verifying the contents of a transship container during the receiving process helps to ensure that the correct transship items and quantities are moving through the warehouse.

The crossdock feature lets you verify the contents of a transship container when it is received, but before it is moved to another location in the warehouse. You can use the pallet ID or external shipment key (SID) to confirm the contents of the container.

To verify transship containers:

  1. From the RF device Main menu, select Receiving.
The Printer ID (PID) screen is displayed.
  2. In PRNT, specify the printer ID and press Enter. The Receiving Menu (RCM) screen is displayed.
  3. Select More Options.
  4. Select Crossdock. The Crossdock Rcpt (RCM) screen is displayed.
  5. Select Transship. The Transship Tasks (TRT) screen is displayed.
  6. Select Verify Transship. The Trans Verify (VT01) screen is displayed.
  7. Specify the pallet ID or SID and press Enter twice. The RF screen for the Multi-Sid feature is displayed if the application detects multiple SIDs.
  8. The SID field is automatically populated; you must specify the DUNS number.
  9. The Verify Transship (VT) screen is displayed with the requested information under one of the following circumstances:
    • A retrieved record matches the unique ID.
    • A retrieved record matches the ID, DUNS, and route, but the ID is not unique.

Press Enter twice. The unit transmits the data to the database and then displays new information so the next item can be verified.

Note: If you enter a pallet ID or SID that does not need to be verified, an error message indicates that transship receiving should be used.
  10. If the ID is not found, the Yes/No Options screen is displayed stating that the ID does not exist and asking if you want to continue. Selecting Yes to continue results in a blank Verify Transship (VT) screen.
  11. Enter information in the appropriate fields. The entered data displays on the Transship Detail screen on the workstation.
  12. Press Enter twice. The unit transmits the data to the database, and then is displayed the original screen so the next record can be verified.
  13. To stop, select No to return to the Verify Transship (VT) screen.
Note:  If invalid data is entered, the database displays an error message. Correct the data and then try again.
  14. To return to the main menu, press Esc.
