Editing a code

You maintain existing codes only if you are a Warehouse user or an Enterprise user, depending on the type of code it is.

  • Codes that are defined to be maintained by an Enterprise user can be viewed by a Warehouse user but not added to or removed.
  • Codes that are defined to be maintained by a Warehouse user are not displayed for Enterprise users.

To edit a code:

  1. Select Configuration > Codes > System.
  2. Display the details for the code to edit.
  3. Update information in the Codes header section as required:
    Description
    Description of the code.
  4. Update this information in the Codes detail list section as required:
    Description
    Long description of the code.
    Active
    Indicates that this code is active and is displayed in drop-down menus throughout the application. You can turn off codes that do not apply to functions used by the operation by using this flag.
    Sequence
    Number that determines the order the code is displayed on the drop-down menu showing active codes. Lower sequence numbers are displayed at the top of the drop-down menu.
    Notes
    User-defined notes pertaining to the code.
    User Defined 1 through 5
    User-defined fields that you can use for reference on reports if needed.
  5. Click Save.
