3D Yard View map

The Yard View map is a 3D rendering of the yard. The yard view shows the buildings, doors, yard locations, and trailers in 3D based on the resolution of the browser. You can use the Yard View map to do these things:

  • Identify trailers that need attention by using the intuitive colors and icons provided
  • View trailer contents and generate and confirm moves
  • View the yard and trailer service status in real time
  • Manage dock resources, doors, and yard areas
Note: The 3D yard requires a 64-bit client with a hardware graphics card.

The card side of the map view contains these tabs:

  • Location card: This card shows the location name, status, type of location, and coordinates of any visible location the operator selects.
  • Appointment cards: This card shows the details of the appointment listing the carrier, start and end appointment times and service window times for the trailer at the location if an appointment exists for the trailer.
  • Trailer card: This card shows all the contents of the trailer and trailer type, inbound or outbound, along with icons to confirm or generate a move. The Generate button can be used to specify a new location for the trailer, and then generates a move. The Confirm button confirms an existing move, updating the trailer location to the destination location of the move and removing the task detail.

The map shows every trailer from the trailer table as a trailer icon, joining the appointment table and inventory with which to use to show the appropriate icons. The yard shows the location types which include these types:

  • Staged
  • Door
  • Yard
  • Holding Area (HA)

The coordinates and dimensions show the flat size on the ground with the location name in front of the location. When a trailer exits at the location, the trailer is drawn in 3D inside of the location coordinates.

The front third of the trailer indicates whether the trailer is empty or has materials on it.

If Then
Blank Trailer is empty.
Has pallet icon Trailer has materials on it. The direction of the arrow indicates material loading, arrow is point into the trailer, or needing unloading, arrow is point out of the trailer.

The middle third of the trailer indicates the service window.

If Then
Blank Trailer is not scheduled for service.
Has clock icon Trailer is scheduled for service with these colors that further indicate the status:
  • Red: Service window has passed, and trailer has not received service
  • Yellow: Service window is within 2 hours, and trailer has not received service
  • Blue: Trailer is being serviced
  • Green: Trailer service is complete, and trailer is ready to move
  • Black: Trailer has service scheduled in the future, but the time window is not within 2 hours

The final back third of the trailer indicates movement.

If Then
Blank Trailer does not have a move scheduled.
Has truck in motion icon Trailer has a pending move scheduled. The corresponding yard location for the move also shows indication of the pending trailer move into the location.
