Labor Standards overview

The Labor Standards function contains the Labor Standards engine (LSE), which computes a goal time (engineered labor standard) for specific tasks sent from the Warehouse Management (WM) system. To calculate labor times, system administrators or other technical users must configure:

Operations

Use Operations to create operations records that identify each discrete action required to complete the different types of tasks managed by WM system. Each operation is a set of job code element records. The job code element record is a set of job code sub-element records. Each sub-element has an observed time, which is the basis of labor standards calculations.

Sections

Sections are composed of travel section and connection records. These records identify aisle positions, travel directions, access points, and travel restrictions throughout the facility and make up the warehouse travel network. The Labor Distance Engine, a component of the LSE, uses this information to determine the optimum travel path for each task and then to calculate the distance of that path. Based on information from element and sub-element records, the system can use the distance to calculate the travel time.

Transactions

Use the Standards History screen to review the audit history for standards calculations. From this screen you can review work units and tasks for which the Labor Standards Engine calculates standards. Additionally, you can rerun standards calculation for selected work units.

Revision Control

Use the Revision Control screen to backup your standards configuration. You can take snapshots of your standards configuration to save the current state. You can export and import these snapshots from one system to another if the systems are the same WMS version.
