Configuring an Owner

This section covers all of the configuration options on the Owner screen.

In the Infor WMS WM module, an owner is a unique code identifying the owner of the items. The application uses the owner table to house other values, such as the Facility, Customer codes, Carrier codes, and Bill To codes.

Each record within the application is assigned a type code to group it with similar records.

To accommodate Multi-facility processing, there are two levels in which you can add and define data: Enterprise and Warehouse. Transactions for all of the warehouses are held on an individual schema at the Warehouse level, while company-wide data is held at an Enterprise level. Owner records are initially created at the Enterprise (company) level. However, certain owner details can be defined at the individual Warehouse level; thereby giving each facility the opportunity to define the handling of an owner within their location.

For example, at the Enterprise level, you can create a new owner and define criteria, such as Credit Limits and Bill To information. At the Warehouse level, you can define warehouse-specific information, such as Task Manager and Receiving Information requirements.

Note:  You can use the Excel Import and Export features to create or update owners. With the Import feature, you can import, at a minimum, only the fields required to create an owner; or you can import additional data into other Owner fields. With the Export feature, you can select to export all data for selected owners or only the data displayed on the list view.
