Automatic Dock Assignments

The logical and balanced allocation of shipping dock locations can play an important role in the efficiency of a facility's shipping operation. The WM module offers several options for automatically assigning dock locations to shipment orders based on predetermined rules.

• Order Matching: For a specific order, search for other unshipped orders that share the same appointment, load, route or ship to location. If a matching order is found, copy the dock location assignments (door, stage, packing) to the new order if possible.
• Static Dock Sets: A set of rules that define permanent dock location assignments based on order attributes. For example: Always use Stage10 and Door10 for emergency orders.
• Dynamic Dock Sets: A rotating list of dock locations assigned in series.
• Overflow Dock Locations: A set of dock locations used when other suitable locations cannot be assigned.
