Using wave planning
The production order process must use wave planning to allow the system to use consolidation. For production orders, each wave should only contain one production order number to ensure the correct consolidation logic is used for all items. This could be either the Infor WMS Shipment Order Number or the External Order Number for the order.
Creating the wave will automatically perform the consolidation logic in the system without user interaction if configured accordingly. This will assign a consolidation location to each item assuming: (a) the system setting to automatically consolidate orders is on, (b) the automatically consolidate orders selection is on for the item, and ©) the quantity of the item on the wave is greater than the Minimum Wave Quantity on the item.
Once consolidation is complete, you can view the consolidation results by looking at the Assign Locations tab on the Item. Key information available at this time is the Speed Line location, Minimum Quantity, Maximum Quantity, and Minimum Replenishment UOM. If consolidation information is incorrect, correct the data, unconsolidate the wave, and consolidate to verify the data changes have corrected any remaining issues.
