Configuring labels for trading partners and items

A label can be assigned to an owner using the Owner Label screen. The following rules apply when assigning a label to an owner:

• Multiple labels can be assigned to a single owner. Each owner label created must be unique by label type, Ship From and Ship To.
• A default label for the Owner of each type can be identified by creating a record without specifying the Ship From or Ship To. This label prints for the owner unless there is a specific Ship From or Ship To identified that overrides the owner label.
• For outbound orders, the existence of a label name on the order overrides other labels that might be assigned at different levels for the owner or consignee.

Note that custom labels can be assigned to a Carrier in a similar manner.
