Performing a Labor Metric Punch

Labor metrics are used to track, measure, and control the amount of work, time, and costs devoted to different activities and tasks within a company. Employees can perform different labor metric punches at the Virtual Clock to keep track of these activities and tasks.

To perform a labor metric punch:

  1. Using the keypad on the keyboard, the computer mouse, or the touch monitor, specify a badge number.
  2. Specify a PIN number, if required.
  3. Press a labor metric operation button. For example, Job, Docket, Department.
  4. Specify the labor metric code.

A confirmation message is displayed showing the type of punch, labor metric description and your name.

The clock reader returns to its idle state.

Note: If the specified badge number or labor code is invalid, an appropriate error message is displayed. If the Clock Server is not available, a message is displayed that the transaction has been accepted and stored locally; that is, no validation is done. The Virtual Clock will then return to its idle state for the next punch.
