Attachments to time off requests

When submitting a time off request, employees can attach a file to accompany the request. For example, an employee requesting time off for jury duty can include a copy of the summons with their request. The supervisor can then view or download the attachment before approving the request.

Supported file types

Currently, these file types are supported:

  • PDF
  • DOC
  • DOCX
  • PNG
  • JPEG
  • JPG

If an employee tries to upload a file of a different type, an error is displayed.

Maximum file size

By default, the maximum file size for attachments is 5 MB. If an employee tries to upload a file that is larger than 5 MB, an error is displayed. To accommodate larger files, you can configure the RESOURCE_CONTENT_MAX_SIZE registry parameter.

See the Infor Workforce Management Registry Parameter Reference Guide.

Purging of orphaned attachments

Orphaned attachments are attachments that cannot be associated with an existing request. This occurs when an employee uploads a file as part of a request, but never submits the request itself.

To prevent orphaned attachments from needlessly taking up space in the database, a policy named UNLINKED RESOURCE DATA has been added. As per the policy, orphaned attachments that have been in the system for over 24 hours are automatically purged. It is unlikely that you will need to modify this policy.

See "Archiving" in the Infor Workforce Management Tools Administration Guide.

Note: Attachments that are associated with requests are not automatically purged, regardless of the status of the request. These attachments should be archived as per the policy at your company.
