Shift and staff offsets in Auto-Assignment

Shifts generated with Auto-Assignment can include staff offset periods to schedule employees before a location's opening time or after a location's closing time. When staff offsets are enabled, Auto-Assignment may extend shifts at the start or end of hours of operation. Staff offsets are specified at the department level as a number of hours, or portions of hours, before opening time or after closing time.

Shift offsets can be used to extend shifts to account for tasks that employees must perform before or after regular service activities. Shift offsets can be configured when adding volume-driven workload requirements to a location. When schedules are generated, Auto-Assignment extends the start and end times of shifts created to cover the requirement. The length of time that shifts are extended is specified in minutes. Different lengths of time can be specified to extend the start or end of the shift.
