Long-term absences

Long-term absences (LTAs) created in the Time Off Planner are visible and can be managed in MVS. MVS detects LTAs as schedule conflicts when they overlap with assigned shifts.

These conditions allow LTAs to be displayed in MVS:

  • LTAs are applied on days without schedules
  • LTAs are approved from the Time Off Planner
  • LTAs are applied directly as LTA overrides on timesheets
  • Pending leave requests in the Time Off Planner could be present

These features outline how LTAs from Time Off Planner are handled in MVS:

  1. ASV displays the LTA time code. You can view employees' LTAs when viewing a unit's schedule.
  2. ASV does not allow scheduling shifts over LTA times. You cannot schedule an employee during the leave time. This condition prevents schedule conflicts.
  3. ASV displays the LTA start and end times in hover over the schedule cell with the LTA.
  4. MR and OTS detect existing LTAs as conflicts when overlapping MR or OTS shifts. The user must resolve any conflicts before the MR or OTS can be processed.
  5. Conflict management allows the user to resolve conflicts between MR or OTS shifts and existing LTAs. The user may send the MR or OTS shift to the relief queue. If the LTA has a recallable leave type, the user may book off MR or OTS shifts to resolve the conflicts.
  6. Relief Calling Area (RCA) displays the LTAs. You can see an employees' LTA in the RCA when offering relief shifts.
  7. Employee Call Pop-up displays the LTA times. You can view an employee's LTAs in the Employee Call Pop-up (ECP).
  8. Staffing Center displays the employees with LTAs. You can view an employee's LTAs in the Staffing Center in the same way that you can view a shift.
  9. Assign panel in the Staffing Center displays the employees with LTAs. You can view an employee's LTAs when assigning open shifts in the Staffing Center.
