Broadcasting shifts to mobile devices

Mobile Shift Offer allows you to broadcast open shifts to employees by text message, phone call, or email. The broadcast can be sent from the Advanced Scheduling View, the Staffing Center, or the Relief Queue. Employees are sent a message when a shift is offered, and they can respond to the message to claim the shift.

When the shift is broadcast the shift is locked for the duration of the broadcast. When the shift is locked, MVS cannot offer the shift to employees not included in the broadcast. Once the broadcast offer expires, you can assign or offer the shift to employees using other methods. MVS logs all broadcast shifts and their details.

Before Mobile Shift Offer can be used, connectivity details for the third-party Vortex service must be entered in WFM. Contact information must be available for employees before they can receive shift offers.

For details on setting up Mobile Shift Offer, see "Configuring Mobile Shift Offer" in the Infor Workforce Management MVS Implementation and Administration Guide.
