Shift cards

Shift cards are the primary component used to manage schedules in the Schedule Zone and in the Float Pool Zone. Each shift card represents a single shift in the published schedule. Shift cards display information about the shift, including the employee assignment and shift times.

A summary of shift details is displayed on each shift card. This table describes the information that is displayed in each area of a shift card.
Area Information
Color A white shift card represents an assigned shift, and a yellow shift card represents an unassigned shift.
Stripes are displayed on shifts to represent additional information about the shift status:
  • Blue stripes are displayed on ad-hoc shifts.
  • Turquoise stripes are displayed on shifts where a portion of the shift has been booked off. Turquoise stripes are also displayed on shifts that have been fully booked off using multiple book off activities.
  • Stripes are displayed on shifts that have been fully booked off, using the color configured for the book off activity.
  • Orange stripes are used for shifts with an action required status.
Clock indicator The clock indicator shows if clock punches have been recorded for the employee that is assigned to the shift. The clock indicator displays a check mark if the employee has recorded any clocks during the shift's start date. An empty circle is displayed if the employee does not have any clocks recorded during the shift's start date. The clock indicator is not displayed on unassigned shifts or shifts that have been fully booked off.
Shift Label Displays the shift label.
Assigned employee Displays the name of the assigned employee or displays Unassigned. You can hover over the employee name to view additional information about the employee.
Shift times Displays the start and end times of the shift. This includes times for work and on-call activities.
Schedule compliance indicator A warning triangle icon is displayed for shifts that have unapproved schedule compliance warnings. A check mark icon is displayed for shifts that have approved schedule compliance warnings. You can click the schedule compliance indicator to view the schedule compliance warnings associated with the shift and approve unapproved warnings.
Shift status indicator Shift status icons are displayed on shifts that are being processed by another feature of the application.

On-call indicator A phone icon indicates that the shift has at least one on-call activity. The icon is outlined if the entire shift is on-call time. The icon is solid if the shift has both work and on-call activities.
Overtime indicator An OT indicator indicates that the shift includes overtime.

Weekly scheduled hours Shows the number of hours in the employee's schedule for the week that is currently displayed.

Shift details icon You can hover over the i icon to see additional details about a shift.

Shift comments indicator Displays a gray arrow icon if the shift has one or more shift comments.
Short codes Displays any short code indicators that are relevant to the shift.
Shift activities Displays the work, on-call, or book off activities for the shift.
