Viewing staff coverage in the Schedule Zone

Staff coverage is displayed in the Schedule Zone to help determine which units or jobs require additional staff and which ones are overstaffed. Staff coverage in the Schedule Zone is displayed as ratios that compare the number of assigned employees to the staffing requirement, using Full Time Equivalent (FTE) units. Staffing requirements come from the same sources that are used in the KPI panel.

See Viewing staff coverage.

Depending on the organization of the Schedule Zone, staff coverage ratios are either displayed for each job in a unit card or for each unit in a job card. The coverage figures displayed in the Schedule Zone are averaged across all day parts that are currently displayed. This includes day parts that are either partially or fully overlapped by the currently selected time range. Staff coverage ratios are calculated using this formula:
Combined FTE scheduled in all day parts / Number of day parts
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Combined FTE required in all day parts / Number of day parts
One of these icons is displayed next to the coverage ratio to indicate understaffing or overstaffing:
  • A green check mark icon indicates staff assignments are equal to the staffing requirements.
  • A red minus icon indicates understaffing.
  • A yellow plus icon indicates overstaffing.

The message No Coverage Data is displayed when all shifts associated with a job or unit are unassigned and there are no staffing requirements available during the currently selected time range. For example, there could be no staffing requirements available because the unit's Staffing Requirements Template has not been generated for the currently selected date. The message No Coverage Data can also be displayed when there are no staffing requirements available and the shifts associated with the unit or job were not created in MVS.
