Offline page

An offline page can be displayed on the user's mobile browser when connectivity to the WFM servers has been lost. The offline page displays the same logo and application name as the login page.

When a user accesses the WFM application using a mobile browser, the system checks whether the most recent version of the offline page is stored in the browser's cache. If the cache is missing the offline page, then the offline page is stored on the accessing user's device for future use. If the version of the cached offline page is older than the most recent version, then the older offline page is replaced with the current offline page.

If a user attempts to make a connection between their device and the WFM server while connectivity has been lost, the cached offline page is displayed instead of the expected page.

Note: If the user's browser does not have the offline page stored in its cache, then the standard browser message is displayed.

When the offline page is displayed, the system will automatically attempt to re-establish the connection every minute. Users can also initiate another connection attempt by tapping the Try again link. If connectivity has been restored, then the user will be redirected to the login page. If connectivity has not been restored, then the page will refresh and the offline page will be re-displayed.

As an administrator, you can control these aspects of the offline page:

  • Configure the offline message and text of the Try again link
  • Enable offline clocking
  • Configure the offline clocking messages
