Upgrade considerations when upgrading from a version prior to 5.0.4.1

Infor Workforce Management (WFM) contains the LFSO Configuration Editor. The Configuration Editor provides clients with an easy-to-use, easy-to-navigate interface for configuring new or modifying existing entities related to LFSO. For example, the Editor can modify locations, staffing requirements, drivers, activities, and employees.

When starting from a version prior to 5.0.4.1, the upgrade requires that the clients run an upgrade script to alter location, shift group, and shift rules data to facilitate mass configuration. The upgrade considerations outlined in this appendix should be reviewed by each client and project team. The new requirements for the Configuration Editor support mass edits of LFSO entities.

These upgrade considerations are related only to the Configuration Editor functionality and do not affect existing LFSO operations after the upgrade has been run.

To successfully upgrade to the latest WFM version and use the LFSO Configuration Editor, do these steps:

  1. Run the core upgrade script.

This script introduces a new table required for distribution types.

  2. Run the Configuration Editor custom upgrade script (special task).

This special task script upgrades existing LFSO configuration data, such as hours of operation, schedule groups, staffing definitions, schedule rules and distribution types.

For detailed instructions about running these tasks, see the document Infor WFM Upgrading Infor Workforce Management.
