Physically Installing the Clock
Before you mount the WB2000 Series Clock, you must find an appropriate physical location. To ensure the clock functions properly, mount the clock in these conditions:
- Indoors, away from harsh environment conditions.
- On a flat surface wall.
- In ambient temperature in the 32° to 110° F (0°C to 43°C) range.
- In an area with less than 95% non-condensing humidity.
- With an electrical outlet within four feet.
- Not more than 328 wire feet (100 meters) away from the Ethernet hub/switch, if using the Ethernet connection.
To mount the WB2000 clock reader:
- Select and remove one or more of the knockouts on the clock reader case to accommodate the data and power cables.
- Drill holes in the wall using the template in the appendix as a guide. The top of the clock reader should be positioned approximately 48 inches from the floor.
- Attach the clock reader base to the wall using screws or other fasteners in the mounting holes marked on the template.
- Attach the clock reader to the base.
- Insert the data cable through the knockouts in the clock reader case. Attach the data cable to the appropriate communication port on the clock reader.
- Use a busing or cable clamp to secure and protect the cable where the cable passes through the case.
- Attach the other end of the data cable to the Ethernet jack on the network hub or switch.
- Connect the output cable from the 12VDC power pack to the power jack on the clock reader.
- Plug the power pack into the wall outlet.
- Attach the clock reader's face plate, if necessary.
- The clock reader is now mounted and ready for setup and configuration.
