Adding Clock Readers

Each WB5500 Series Clock that you install must have a corresponding clock reader in the WFM application.

To add clock readers:

  1. Select Maintenance > Reader Setup > Readers.
  2. Click Create New Entry.

    The Readers Detail page is displayed.

  3. Specify the clock reader's name in the Reader field. Make note of this name. This name is required when configuring Web Services on the clock, unless you use the MAC address to identify the clocks.
  4. Specify a description of the clock, such as the clock’s physical location, in the Description field.
  5. Select the reader group to which the WB5500 belongs using the Reader Group lookup.
  6. Specify the IP or MAC address of the clock in the IP Address field. Specify the IP address if you are using fixed IP addresses. If you are using DHCP, specify the MAC address of the clock.
  7. Specify 0 in the Reader Zone field that represents the clock’s area. This field is required by the WFM application, although for the WB5500 the field can be 0.
  8. Select the clock reader's time zone using the Time Zone lookup.
  9. Specify EDC in the Rdr Type field.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Ensure the message “Your changes have been saved” is displayed.
    Note: The fields on the Readers Detail page not mentioned in these steps are not applicable to the WB5500.
