Business rule parameters

If a business rule is violated, the budget manager may still be able to submit or release a budget/forecast, depending on the rule parameters described in the table below. These parameters have the following default settings in the VALIDATE PAYROLL and VALIDATE MIN HOURS rules:

rootTimePeriod The time period for which Labor Budgeting checks and highlights violations. Specify one option:
  • true - checks the root time periods only.
  • false - checks every time period unit in the time period hierarchy.

threshold-Percentage Optional. The maximum percentage by which a value can be either:
  • over the specified maximum payroll
  • under the specified minimum hours
When the value is between the specified value and the threshold, Labor Budgeting:
  • allows locking a budget/forecast
  • displays a violation message
Valid values: Any real number.
