Finalizing and Locking the Forecast

When the forecast has been submitted to the root budget manager’s location for review and finalization, the system sends the root budget manager a Workmail notification indicating this. After all the budget managers (excluding the root budget manager) have submitted their forecasts, they can no longer edit the data; it is available only for viewing.

Budget managers of parent locations can create forecasts and start internal mini-approval processes for their child locations. Once the children have approved and submitted, the budget managers can then lock the forecast.

After receiving the Workmail notification, the root budget manager navigates to the forecast Worksheet, reviews the forecast numbers, makes any last-minute changes to it, and then locks it to finalize the forecast solicitation process. The root budget manager can unlock and edit the forecast as required. The root budget manager can also run the Budget Export Job Scheduler task to export the Master version of the selected forecast to a CSV file.

The granularity of the exported data matches the granularity of the data in the workflow. For more information about the granularity of exported data, see Finalizing, Locking, and Exporting the Annual Budget.

For instructions on exporting the forecast, see Exporting a Plan.
