Jobs

The jobs that are required to satisfy the staffing needs of each team, department, or location should be considered. Jobs can be used as a filter to determine which employees should be scheduled by a particular Auto-Assignment group. Jobs can be used as qualification factors that determine if Auto-Assignment can assign a particular shift to an employee. For LFSO, staff requirements are configured for each location to determine the job qualifications for each position. In MVS, jobs are selected when designing schedule templates or when creating shifts in other MVS components.

Auto-Assignment rules determine whether to consider jobs as required qualifications during Auto-Assignment processes. Jobs are considered as a necessary qualification if the Honor Position rule is selected. With this rule applied, shifts are only assigned to employees when an employee has the job necessary to cover the required workload. Employees are qualified to perform the job as long as the job is in their employee profile, even if it is not the employee's preferred job. When the Honor Position rule is not selected, any employee can be assigned to shifts for any job.
